Sidney del Ray Murphy grew up in Seattle, WA. Her home is taking walks on the beach collecting sea-glass and cuddling up with her kittens Hall and Oates. Sidney found her love for museums at a very young age, and continued this love while attending Washington State University for anthropology and history. At WSU she acted as the Special Projects Curator, and was able to curate her first exhibit during Black History Month called ‘Social Space’. Currently in the Museum Studies program at University of Illinois Chicago, Sidney strives to use her experience and her education to develop public programming surrounding social justice and museum work.
