Erik Wenzel is an artist and writer based in Chicago, with his cat. His work was included in the 12th Havana Biennial (Havana, CU) and in exhibitions at VBKÖ (Vienna, AT), 65GRAND (Chicago, US) and the Werkstadt Kulturverein (Berlin, DE). His writing appears in Akademie X (Phaidon, 2015) and How to Write About Contemporary Art by Gilda Williams (Thames & Hudson, 2014). Wenzel co-edited and contributed to Internal Necessity: A Reader Tracing the Inner Logics of the Contemporary Art Field (Sternberg Press, 2010). He is currently a doctoral student in the Department of Art History at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
